This portfolio piece showcases a collaborative fake video game project where our team developed a complete concept including trailers, screenshots, character designs, and social media presence. My responsibilities included creating mock IRL promotional photos, rough character designs, a save location interface, and managing the game's Twitter profile.
"When The Shadows Fall" is an adventure game that blends pixel art with detailed illustrations. The narrative follows the henchmen of a fallen villain who reunite to confront the hero—revealed as the true antagonist. The game explores themes of blind tradition and willful ignorance in preserving historical narratives. Designed with turn-based combat mechanics and a dark Aero-Technozen aesthetic, the project targeted a young adult audience.
Through this project, I developed stronger collaboration skills and learned to incorporate feedback effectively into my design work. I used Illustrator to create the logo and save machine interface, leveraging its precision with shapes and color effects. Photoshop served as my primary tool for compositing the mock promotional photographs.
